Senior school

At the Concord school, we aim to provide each student with the required intellectual skills needed for future study, including the ability to think critically and logically, whilst still enabling imagination and allowing diversity of interests.

At the core of our educational philosophy is the belief that diversity of opportunity is vital in creating balance in learning. An extraordinary range of options beyond academic subjects – encompassing clubs and societies, leadership roles, academic extension, sports, the arts and travel broadens our students’ experiences and properly prepares them for the future.

The value added to each student in terms of examination results is outstanding, but life at our senior school is about so much more than just the excellent examination results we achieve with students of all abilities. Our children develop to become confident, caring, independent thinkers, well prepared for further education and the world beyond school.

STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) are exceptionally strong at Concord, these subjects are important as they allow our students fully embrace the ongoing technological revolution. Art and Commercial also feature strongly, with lessons that inspire pupils to think in an original and creative way.

Cambridge IGCSE

Cambridge IGCSE is the world’s most popular international qualification for 14 to 16 year olds.

The Cambridge IGCSE examinations are written by our new Year 11 (SS2)students in the month of November. Students then have the opportunity to proceed to Cambridge A-levels or write the WAEC exams.

For over 6 years, our students have consistently recorded outsanding results in the IGCSE exams, gaining admission to universities all over the world. For more info, click here.

Cambridge A-levels

Our students have the opportunity of preparing and taking the Cambridge A level exams by Year 12 (SS3). Teaching groups are kept small and teachers are specialists in their subject; many also being examiners, too. The AS exams are written in the month October/November while the A2 in May/June.
