Our pupils and students are our greatest asset. Pastoral care supports the personal, social and academic development of every learner.
Teachers and support staff share responsibility for helping children feel secure and participate fully in school life. The curriculum and daily interactions help pupils develop self-esteem, appropriate assertiveness and sound judgement.
Heads of School and class teachers work together to keep parents informed about academic progress, behaviour and health. Frequent communication between home and school helps us understand each child more fully.
Prep School
A warm welcome and close attention
In Prep, pastoral care begins with a warm welcome and continues through careful attention to each pupil’s progress across the curriculum.
Classroom activity is monitored so that teachers can respond to the needs of every learner. Regular communication with parents strengthens the support surrounding each child.
High School & boarding
Guidance through every transition
High School students are supported by mentors who help them develop confidence, study habits and social skills during the teenage years.
Pastoral care supports a smooth transition from one stage of school to the next. In boarding, house staff oversee welfare, personal development and academic progress within the residential community.
Staff training each term strengthens knowledge and communication, helping the school provide consistent care throughout a pupil’s time at Concord.
